WCSFA Online Board Game Meetup
June 7
Are you a proud board game nerd stranded far from the Greater Vancouver Area? Trapped in a distant realm with no portal to our in-person meetups? Fear not, fellow dice-slingers and card-wielders—the WCSFA Online Board Game Meetup is here to save your social (and strategic) life!
Join us on Discord the first Saturday of every month at 2:00 PM as we virtually gather around the digital table to roll dice, betray friends, trade sheep, slay monsters, and maybe save the galaxy—depending on the game. Whether you’re a seasoned rules lawyer or a casual card-flopper, there’s a space at the table for you.
WCSFA In-Person Meetup
June 28
Our monthly meetups, held on the 4th Saturday of the month starting at 1:00 pm, are an opportunity for members of our community to meet up outside of the various events we host. This April, we’re headed back to a tried and true location – the Sapperton District Taphouse on E. Columbia in New Westminster, BC – for good beers, great people, making connections and playing board games. Come out and have some fun!
Minors are welcome to join us – the establishment is open to minors until 8 pm.
CONnections
November 15, 2025
CONnections is a 1-day event with panels, workshops, vendors and more at the BCIT Burnaby campus, BC. Dress up, find cool treasures, and explore where the imagination takes you.
CONnections is also an important fundraiser for our organization, a big part of our rebuilding effort towards bringing back VCON, our flagship event and Canada’s oldest and longest-running fan-run convention!

Comic Maker Meet-Up

For over fifteen years, Cloudscape has been connecting cartoonists in the city of Vancouver. Come on down and join our in-person meet-up. There will be a short announcement and introduction period followed by free discussion and drawing. This event is open to all, however, we reserve the right to refuse people who are not supporting our mandate of an inclusive space for cartoonists of all levels.
Hurricane Diane

Leather & Lace Theatre invites you to experience an outrageously funny new comedy from Pulitzer Prize Finalist author Madeleine George that delivers a quirky mix of Greek mythology, modern-day climate change, and the Real Housewives with an underlying element of imminent danger.

Collector Con

Welcome to Collector Con 2025, where the worlds of fandom and collecting collide in an epic, retro-fueled celebration of geek culture! This year, we’re turning back the clock to bring you all the nostalgia and classic vibes of yesteryear while keeping all the same fun and excitement from last year’s event.
Get ready to meet an incredible lineup of special guest comic book writers, voice actors, actors, cosplayers, and film and collector enthusiasts. Dive into an action-packed day of Panels, Workshops, and interactive activities. With over 80 vendor tables to explore, there’s something for every retro fan and collector. Whether you’re into comics, toys, vintage games, or pop culture, you’ll find plenty to enjoy!
Tickets start at just $10 — we encourage everyone to buy online at CollectorCon.ca for quicker entry, but tickets will also be available at the door! (Tickets start at $20 at the door)
Vancouver Retro Gaming Expo
June 14
VRGE is back with another amazing event full of everything you love plus fun new guests and content. We’ve updated our schedule with performers, guests, panels, tournaments, and more (check it out, it’s pretty exciting) and download our Digital Guide.
Tickets are available ONLINE or in-person at Gamedeals Video Games until June 13th. Tickets will also be available at the door.
STEAM Tea Party: Out of This World
June 14
The STEAM Tea Party is meant to introduce families to STEAM in a fun and creative way. The goal of the event is to learn about the science of tea and food, and how tea is used in many different cultures for different uses. This event also includes a traditional learning component to introduce attendees to the medicinal uses of tea by Indigenous peoples in the region.
We’ll kick things off with a fun and engaging welcome presentation, followed by hands-on STEAM activities, tea, treats, and fun times!
Japan Market Summer Festival

Exciting news! Japan Market is back at Vancouver Art Gallery North Plaza. Our biggest event of the year in the busiest area of downtown Vancouver! Support local Canadian small businesses. Come and enjoy some yummy Japanese food, entertainment, workshops, shop for unique Japanese style crafts and merchandise from over 80 vendors.

Dogma Resurrected!
A 25th Anniversary Celebration at the Rio Theatre

We are proud to announce an amazing and long-awaited event, 25 years in the making. In 1999, our pal Kevin Smith and some friends released DOGMA to the masses, which has become a grade-A cult classic over the years. The film has been stuck in limbo due to rights issues, but last year, those rights have now reverted back to Kevin Smith and his team. This film was only available through physical media from old DVD and Blu-ray releases in the 2000s (predating streaming rights). Now with the film available once again, Kevin Smith is happy to offer the special 25th anniversary 4K remastered re-release of DOGMA: Resurrected! A 25th Anniversary Celebration for the original audience to see on the big screen – and for a new generation of fans to experience it for the first time in movie theatres.
This release will offer special bonus content, featuring Q&A highlights of Smith and friends from appearances being filmed later this month. We would love for you to join this celebration of Kevin’s favorite film in his repertoire!

Button-Making & Anime Art Workshop

Come join us for a fun day of making buttons and creating anime art with your kids and family! Join Cloudscape Comics to learn to make your own pin-back buttons!
Create your own custom design using alcohol markers & watercolour paints, or follow along with step-by-step instructions on drawing your own chibi anime face for your button. Children & parents are encouraged to attend together. Children under 8 years old must be accompanied by a guardian or older sibling. Participants can take home all their buttons created during the workshop. All art supplies are provided.
Marvel Movie Trivia

Marvel Movie Trivia is coming to The Rec Room Granville on Sunday, June 29, and you’re invited to the MCU quiz of monumental proportions!
Hop aboard the helicarrier for the free Fandom Trivia themed night celebrating Marvel films over the years. The evening will test your knowledge of the iconic superheroes, twisted villains, epic moments, and more. We will also have some questions about fan-favourite MCU TV shows and Marvel movies throughout history, so start binge-watching!
Costumes are highly recommended, and there may even be a surprise challenge for your chance to win bonus prizes and draws from the mysterious Blue Bag of Swag and Fandom Video Tote!
