From runes to radio waves, explore how messages carry meaning—or mystery—across time, space, and imagination.

Join fellow fans of speculative fiction and gaming for a day of thought-provoking panels, interactive workshops, tabletop adventures, vendor treasures, and creative celebration. Whether you’re here to decode alien transmissions, create your own magical language, or just hang out with kindred nerds — CONnections is calling.


Event Highlights:

  • Cosplay Encouraged! – Come as your favourite character or an original creation
  • Panels & Talks – Dive into themes of language, symbolism, communication, and miscommunication in speculative fiction and games
  • Workshops – Still TBD, but you may be able to learn to design secret codes, craft stories steeped in communication, or even build conlangs (constructed languages)
  • Gaming Rooms – Free and scheduled tables for TTRPG sessions and board games
  • Marketplace – Books! Art! Games! Crafts! and other geeky goods!
  • Author Readings – Hear your favourite authors and new voices share their work
